Day 21: Build Networks To Make Lifestyle Design Work & El Fogon

Since I came down here, I have been hustling to make this lifestyle design experiment a reality. One of the main things I did was create this blog to help with making the process a whole lot easier. The blog has opened up many doors. As a result of it, I have met more like minded people and I have spent a large chunk of my time connecting them with each other. It’s part of the reason why I came down here in the first place. Meeting people, meeting their friends and finally connecting them all together. Having a mindset of making connections and connecting people is essential if you want total flexibility and an abundance of options for lifestyle design.

You can come down here with very little or nothing at all and in a little while from meeting the right people, you can have a place to live, deals and everything else you can imagine. It’s all about making the right contacts and treating people well. The possibilities are endless if you can do this. It’s not about meeting a lot of people, it is about meeting the right people.

I just want to take a moment and give you a quick example of one of the networks of friends I have made. You will see that it is all about helping each other out.

Here we go…

Andrea is a client who I did some internet business consultation for in Toronto. I decided to experiment in lifestyle design. I met Maria as my host from airbnb.com. I then started MonthInPlaya.com. I then met Jimmy, the founder of Casa De Las Olas because of the site. Jimmy and I worked out some deals. I then met Thom as a result of talking about my site. Maria then introduced me to Chef Alexandra. As result of my blog, Andrea was inspired to come to Playa Del Carmen. I hooked her up with Maria who booked her in for stays at Casa De Las Olas and Chef Alexandra’s place. Thom’s sister was then on her way down to Playa. I hooked up Thom’s sister with Chef Alexandra and now she has a place to rent. I made some deals with Chef Alexandra. Andrea is on her way here and we will make more deals for internet business.

All of the above happened in the back-end during my stay here in Playa Del Carmen in less than two weeks of lifestyle designing. There are a lot more deals that happened that I did not talk about but I just wanted to give you a little example of how it works. I wanted to take Day 21 to talk about really what is possible of you stay sharp. When you reach out to help people, good things happen. The above might seem like a well planned out orchestration but really it was just me looking for every opportunity to help. This blog was even created to spark the mind, help people take action and also provide information to people who want to come down here to Playa Del Carmen. Sure I might have lost my iPhone in the process, but Andrea is on her way on the 24th to bring me another!

For Dinner tonight, Chef Alexandra and I went to El Fogon. I told her I was in the mood for some tacos and she promised me that I was in for a treat. I did not take any pictures because I did not have my phone but let me tell you this, I will for sure be back to this place. El Fogon is taqueria located on Calle 6th & 30th Ave. A wave of smoked BBQ smell greets you as walk in to an authentic Mexican taqueria experience. Two levels of seating is enough to find a spot to sit with ease. Tacos al pastor was my order. It consisted of shredded pork served on fresh toasted tortillas, garnished with onions, fresh cilantro and a piece of pineapple. Chef Alexandra ordered us another dish which was also pork served with cheese and more tortillas. The whole meal was extremely filling but at the same time just what I needed after a whole day of running around getting everyone connected.
